Review: Kjaer Weis Cream Blush

Before I get into the details, let's all just take a moment to appreciate the aesthetically stunning, incredibly functional packaging…

Kjaer Weis Cream Blush Packaging and Refill

Have you regained your composure yet? I know, it's gorgeous!

Although they have a more petite profile than the Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation (check out my review), these refillable blush compacts are equally gorgeous. I wish that I didn’t like Kjaer Weis’s product line as much as I do because these luxurious goodies are not cheap! This blush retails at $56 for 0.123 oz. (3.5 g) of product. As is the case with all Kjaer Weis products, if you don't mind forfeiting the beautiful compact, Kjaer Weis Cream Blush Refills can be purchased for the reduced price of $32 and can easily be stored in the magnetic palette of your choice.

Kjaer Weis Cream Blushes in Embrace and Happy

Finish

These cream blushes are soft to the touch and exceptionally silky. I have noticed, however, that the formulation seems to vary slightly from color to color. In reference to the ones that I own, Embrace is more of a powdery cream that absolutely melts into the skin. On the other hand, Happy has a slightly balmy texture. While I often use my fingers to apply these blushes, I find that they also blend flawlessly with a sponge or a soft stippling brush. These blushes are dewy when first applied and maintain their fresh, luminous finish throughout hours of wear.

Application

These blushes are sheer, but layer effortlessly. As they are quite pigmented, I like to build up color by applying 2-3 thin layers of product. While I do find that they last longer when set with a powder (I like this one and this one), I also enjoy establishing a natural flush with a pastel and then adding a flirty pop on the apples of the cheeks with a more vibrant color. Embrace and Happy are the perfect combination for this technique on my cool-toned, very pale skin. Much like the Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation, these blushes are easy to apply and look phenomenal with very little effort.

Wrap-Up

These cream blushes are outstanding! It is difficult to find fault in such high-quality, luxurious products. These blushes melt flawlessly into the skin and give the cheeks a nice flush of color without ever looking greasy or cakey. Unlike blushes that pull your foundation away and cause a patchy appearance, these blushes blend evenly onto the skin for a natural, luminous finish. They can also be tapped on the lips to hydrate and add a pop of color. There is a subtle vanilla scent that is quite pleasing upon application too! While I am not a fan of the fact that the formulation varies throughout the color range, creating a noticeable difference in texture, the two that I have tried apply easily and wear well. I do enjoy the silky, powdery feel of Embrace as opposed to the balminess of Happy; Embrace also seems to be more richly pigmented. Overall, you cannot go wrong with any of these gorgeous blushes!

Have you tried any of the cream blushes from Kjaer Weis?
